96 races were sailed in 8-16 knots from the Southwest. Competitors were treated to some swell and hiking conditions. One breakdown at the end of the day kept race 87, which was sailed at the end of the day.
The remaining flights in Round 1 will be sailed in the morning, at which point we will separate into a Top 8.
Report time remains the same.
The round of 16 was finished, as was the top 8. Conditions were similar to yesterday with a 10-16 knot southwesterly that was very consistent.
No breakdowns were reported. One Rule 14 hearing was heard. It resulted in Charleston being penalized a full point. The hearing was reopened and the result was reversed.
The final 4 will be sailed tomorrow morning. Report time remains the same.
Competitors arrived to a dying southerly and racing was delayed for an hour until a northeasterly filled. After the round of 4, Charleston claimed victory. A deluge ensued, and while building an arc, a tiebreak round for places 2-4 was also constructed. The tiebreak round was sailed, during which there were no ties broken on record. Final placement came down to points. Everyone got wet.
One Rule 2 black flag was thrown. A hearing was not had and a warning was issued.
Thank you to our PRO, Michael Collins, as well as all our umpires and Monarchs that helped run racing.
