The 4th Annual GW Team Race started off Saturday with a boat dedication to John Pearce the first Varsity Sailing Coach for George Washington University.
There was no racing Saturday due to historic blow out tides that took most of the water out of the Potomac River.
The water returned to normal Sunday Morning and the sailors launched right at 915 for a long sail out to Hains Point.
One round robin was completed in 12-20mph winds with higher gusts. Many thanks to the GW undergrads for running the races and for our umpires - John Pearce, Brendan Shanahan, Sean Golden, AJ Reiter, John Andril, Albert Kraus, Curtis Crooke and Sam Oldroyd
This was the first regatta of the MAISA Team Race League Series. Georgetown by virtue of winning has 6 series points, GW 5, St Mary’s 4, Fordham 3, King’s Point 2 and Virginia 1.
The next league events are the John Jackson regatta and the St. Mary’s Team Race.
