Sailors arrived to an all too typical day on the Chester River. Racing began at 10 AM in a very light breeze from the east, shifting towards the Northeast. Two flights were completed before the wind dropped out completely. After a lunch break and a short postponement, two full round robins were completed as the wind returned from the Northeast, building to a steady 10-12. Racing ended just before 6 PM, with Cornell in the lead. Thank you to the WAC team for working hard throughout the day to ensure as many races were completed as possible.
The snow showers in the morning lifted 30 minutes prior to the start of the second day of racing for the Washington College Team Race. Sailors began racing in 10 knot Easterly winds which lost velocity and shifted to the North East. One protest was heard after the completion of the third round robin resulting in a DSQ. Thank you to Brian Clancy and Max Kurland for umpiring today. Congratulations to Cornell for defending their lead from the first day to win the Washington College Team Race. Thank you Washington College Sailing Team members for running a great weekend of sailing.
