Mainly easterly winds with a little NE and SE at times ranging from 5-10 knots throughout the day and temps in the high 30's to low 40's with a little drizzle here and there. The mainly east direction made spectating and rotating easy. 26 races were sailed.
A great weekend of team racing at the Staake Team Race Trophy at Brown and the Edgewood Yacht Club. Mainly easterly winds with a little NE and SE at times ranging from 5-12 knots throughout the weekend and temps in the high 30's to low 40's with a little drizzle here and there. The mainly east direction made spectating and rotating easy. 5 round robins were sailed totaling 50 races, 20 races per team. Thanks to Connecticut College for bringing a powerboat for umpires and to coach Jeff Bresnahan for being the NEISA Representative. A huge thanks to our great umpiring crew of Chief Umpire Sam Madden, Kelsey Wheeler, Will Bailey, and Abby Rohman and to all the Brown Sailors that helped out in the rather cold powerboats: Charlie Blasberg, Gabe Hannon, Burke O'Brien, and Ian Light.
Congrats to the Brown Bears on winning the Staake Team Race Trophy with a 17-3 record and to the Connecticut College Camels for finishing second. Both teams qualified for the NEISA Team Race Championship for the Fowle Trophy at Tufts on April 8-9.
