Midweek Fly, Bobby Berliner Trophy

Summary

Thursday, April 13:

A wacky northerly was enjoyed by the racers this evening on the Charles River. Puffs dropped in from angles which varied by 60 degrees and it was easy to read the ripples. Zachary Breznick from Northeastern and Jon Ewing eeked out a victory over the four other competitors in a 6 race series.

NEISA has a new trophy for both a spring and a fall midweek Fly Series. The Bobby Berliner Trophy recognizes a former MIT sailor who was a superstar in Fireflies back in the 1960s when it was common to have 30-70 Flies show up at a weekend regatta in New England, Canada, and Bermuda. The scores for each season will be cumulative and a top skipper and top crew will have their names engraved on this trophy. They may not be from the same boat or school.....

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
