Surprisingly great day on the water. A nice 4-6 knot SE breezed held long enough to make excellent team racing conditions. In the afternoon, a sea breeze developed and the teams were able to get three full rotations in. More great racing is expected tomorrow.
For Day 2 of the Mendelblatt, we saw N-NE winds at 14-16 dropping to 6-12 and shifty. It also saw very tight racing since the scores were getting closer each flight. The USF Bulls pulled off the victory! Thank you to Salve Regina and Cornell University for traveling so far to participate in the event. Big thank you to the rest of the SAISA teams that participated. They helped the USF Bulls sailing team with some of the on-shore logistics. All the credit goes to the USF Bulls sailing team members for running a fantastically successful event. The team members made sure that the FJ's that needed assistance got what they needed and made sure that the course stayed as true as possible, running 75 races inside the turning basin of Bayboro Harbor. Congratulations again to the USF Bulls on the win and to everyone else that made the trip to St. Petersburg. We appreciate all of those that attended.
