Racing started this morning in an 8-10 knot NNE wind, with a building flood tide. The wind veered to the East as the morning progressed. Mid day the SSE wind filled nicely at 12-15 knots then quickly faded back tho the South East as the ebb tide began to increase. PRO, Ryan Davidson, and his crew of underclassmen did a great job of completing 65 races today in some very tricky conditions. Thanks to our Chief Ump, Steven Wrigley, and his crew for keeping the sailors honest in the challenging conditions. All races we sailed in the "Marsh" of the Cooper River. There was one break down resulting in a re-sail.
Racing began today in a light and shifty east wind at 3-6 knots. Mid- morning as the tide began to flood the wind shifted to the ESE and increased to 5-8 knots. The RC made one last adjustment before the final flight, as the wind veered more to the SE. Thanks to PRO Ryan Davidson for keeping the races moving along and to our chief umpier Steven Wrigley and his team of Jeff Borland, Mike Palazzo, Mike Lindgren, Kathy Lindgren, JD Rosser, and Reed Baldridge. After completing the second round robin a 1-4 & 5-8 round was sailed for a total of 102 races in all. The course was set in the Cooper River just on the south side of the bridge in the "Marsh". Congratulations to the Charleston Cougars for winning the 2017 Bob Bavier team race.
