Day 1 of the PCCSC Coed Fleet race championships saw sun and wind! The breeze was in when everyone arrived in the morning and built during the middle of the afternoon to 18kts be fore backing off a little to finish the day. There were 11 teams with A division in FJ's and B Division in z420's sailing on Stanford's open water "outside" venue. 9 Races were run on W4 and W3 courses. No protests were filed.
Thank you to PRO Clinton Hayes and to Atlantic Brugman for building and running our temporary rotation Island! A big thank you to Danielle Richards our conference Commish for flying up to help us out. Tomorrow the goal is to get in 6 more races in each division to make 15 races for the regatta. Top 4 teams move on to the National Semi-Finals in Charleston, SC.
A warm, sunny day created the 11 teams for the final day of the Coed PCCSC Championship. The day started with a NNW breeze 8-12kts and peaked at about 15kts. Beautiful racing conditions! One protest was filed but no scores were changed. All races were on a W4.
Congratulations to Stanford for wining the 2017 Coed PCCSC championship! Congrats to UCSB, University of Hawaii and first time qualifiers Santa Barbara City College for qualifying to represent the PCCSC at the National Semi-Finals.
The day ended with the presentation of the All PCCSC team.
