An epic day of sailing on day one of the Thompson Trophy! 28 races were sailed across three divisions, all courses were W4s. The breeze ranged from 8-28 knots, generally from the northeast. No protests were filed. Warning for race 9A will be at 10:00 tomorrow.
Sunday was another beautiful day on the Thames. Racing started in a northerly that went a bit west before shutting off. Soon thereafter, however, the sea breeze filled and competitors were treated to champagne conditions to finish the day. 16 races were completed per division - for a total of 48. All courses were W4s.
Chris Klevan lead the RC and kept things square and moving along all weekend. CGA undergrads Matt Orgill, Tom Kiesel, Josh Gumbleton, Liam Ballantyne, Connor Oursler, Jack Gumbleton, and Derek Silliman helped with RC both days.
Thank you to Greg Hall, Mike Levesque, Sam Blouin, and Bob Austin-LaFrance for judging on the water both days. Their jobs were easy in the afternoons with no protests filed.
Congratulations to Yale for winning the Thompson Trophy. Next year's Thompson will be at Coast Guard and run by Connecticut College.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
