A very trying day for breeze, but sailors, coaches, umpires and regatta organizers made the best of it by playing the old standard shoreside sports, inventing new games and having spirited discussions. 15 races completed in light E/NE conditions--most of which came at the end of the afternoon.
Patience paid off! After a couple of hours of continued shoreside chilling', racing took place in NE/E breezes between 4-7 knots. 45 races completed--just enough to complete a full round robin.
College Sailing is amazingly fortunate to have so many generous people volunteer and commit to making our game great. Huge thanks to the following experts who traveled from across the country to make this a wonderful event: Christine Accettella (VA) - Umpire Jeff Borland (MD) - Umpire Sandy Grosvenor (MD, but from FL) - Umpire Pat Healy (MI) - Umpire Stan Hyatt (FL) - PRO Bryan McDonald (CA) - Umpire Rob Overton (CA/Mex), Chief Umpire John Pratt (MA) - Umpire Richard Sullivan (NY) - Umpire
