The first day of the HAWKEYE INVITE 2016 was a rather cloudy day for the Indiana Hoosiers, Iowa State Cyclones, Iowa Hawkeyes, Michigan Wolverines, Minnesota Gophers, and UW-Milwaukee Panthers sailors. A Fleet began the day with the wind hailing from the S/SxSE direction and slowly shifted to SW by the end of the day. Between races, everyone bundled up and bantered through the cold 4C-7C weather. The constant 11mph wind with 15mph gusts, in the form of 90-degree shifts, allowed for a competitive atmosphere. A jib became defective in the race 1A, but it was replaced by the end of the race after they finished. A fleet completed races 1A to 8A and B Fleet completed the races of 1B-6B. A teams photo was taken.
After a well-deserved sleep, the sailors gathered for the final day of the HAWKEYE INVITE 2016. B Fleet began the day, catching up to A Fleet. The wind woke up on the other side of the bed and flew in from the NW, speeding in at 15 mph. It drizzled for a bit in the first few hours, but by the time A fleet went out to sail their last 9A-10A it had stopped. The racing concluded and while the teams helped take down and roll the sails, we quickly got scoring wrapped up. By the time the Race Site was looking more like it did on Saturday morning, pre-arrival of the sailors, scoring was completed. Awards were given for 1st and 2nd place in A and B Fleet and 1st through 3rd Overall.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
