Glassy conditions greeted sailors on Saturday morning, eventually giving way to a light ESE wind allowing racing to begin in the basin in front of the Washington Sailing Marina. Most of the first round robin was completed in the basin until the wind built and shifted right and the racecourse was moved out onto the Potomac river. Racing continued until 5pm, allowing us to get halfway through the second round robin. Thank you to Charlie Arms for umpiring on day one.
Glassy conditions once again greeted teams on Sunday morning. After a 2 hour delay, racing began shortly after 11am in a 3-5 kt ESE wind. The remaining races of the second round robin were completed by 12:30pm, at which point the wind died once again, preventing another round from starting.
Thank you to Chris Segerblom and Grace Lucas for umpiring on day two, and to the GW undergrads for doing a great job with race committee: Dan DelBello '17, Drew Bennett '19, Marie Line '19, Wade Wagner '19, Connor West '19, and Sarah Alexander '19.
Congrats to the St Mary's Seahawks on winning the 2nd annual GW Team Race, and thank you to all the teams that made the trip!
