Saturday, February 27:

Three of the ten races were sailed in a light northerly in the ‘The Marsh’ with A division in Z420s and B sailing FJs. The incoming sea breeze led to a lunch break followed by an afternoon sailing on Crab Bank. Seven races were completed in flat water and a consistent 5-10 knots. Divisions will switch fleets tomorrow. No breakdowns or protests were filed.

Sunday, February 28:

Four races were completed on Crab Bank in a sea breeze around 8 knots that increased to 16 knots throughout the day. Teams had a chance to substitute crews as the breeze became more consistent. Rachel Dryer and Hannah Scanlon lifted the Rams over the Hoyas by two points after a perfect last set. Congratulations to the University of Rhode Island for winning the 2016 Charleston Women’s Regatta. Thank you to Sam Stokes ‘12 for hearing a breakdown which was disallowed. Thank you to Greg Fisher for running the races and the team of Cougars for helping manage a great event. No protests were filed.
