Sunny and 80 degrees, a perfect day for racing in Long Beach!
After a RC Signal boat snafu caused a slight delay Saturday morning the fleet got underway and completed 4 races in each division. Spectators on the pier had the added treat of watching the Long Beach Yacht Club Congressional Cup Qualifier sail off just to the right of the college course.
Courses were single and double windward leewards, breeze was pretty consistent at 240 all day.
Only 70-75 today with the beginnings of cloud cover but better than snow!
The clouds brought more oscillation to the course keeping the weather end markset on their toes. Five races in each division were completed before the 1530 cutoff time.
The USC team reveled in their home court advantage, winning the regatta by 41 points. Next weekend the fleet is headed to St. Francis Yacht Club for the second half of the Coed Championship Qualifiers.
The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
