Breeze on at KP today for day 1 at the Prosser. Wind was from N, NNW ranging in velocity from 12-25 knots with nice waves. There was one broken shroud and a few smaller breakdowns that caused 3 re-sails. 51 races were completed, tomorrow we finish the second round robin and go for a third or a final 6. Many thanks to KP MIdshipmen for helping run the regatta. We had an excellent crew of umpires led by CHUMP Rob Overton. He was joined by Dave Clinnin, Matt Cohen, Sandy Grosvenor, Gary Knapp, John Mooney, Bridget Nannig, Russell Pearson and William Siener. Race 52 will start at 0930 tomorrow.
No wind till 1445. There was a faint trickle of wind in Little Neck Bay that we thought was the building sea breeze. We decided to tow the fleet into Little Neck Bay and meet the breeze so we could finish round 2 before the 1600 cut-off. Race 52 started at 1515 and race 56 finished at 1553. After finishing round 2 FRD and ODU were tied for fourth. FRD won the sailoff clinching the 4th MAISA berth for Nationals.
Congratulations to GTN, SMC, NA, and FRD on qualifying for the 2015 ICSA Team Race National Championship!
