Midweek Wellesley Tech Regatta

Summary

Thursday, April 17:

Bitterly cold temps in the mid 30s with a cloudy, damp seabreeze at 8-10 knots chilled everyone to the bone. Tom Robinson coaching Wellesley did an expert job with 5 races held consecutively on a modified windward-leeward course with both windward and leeward gates. Zero time between races kept everything rolling and racing was finished by 610. MIT's Will Livernois and Angie Nehmzow crushed with John Zupkus and Andrea Thoen of Emmanuel College finishing up in second. Many racers dramatically improved their tech dinghy racing style by the last race as vang eased and skipper's footed instead of pinched to keep the boat moving well.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
