The MAISA/SAISA 2-Conference Regatta, held at Hampton University's Strawberry Banks venue, started with excellent conditions, South West winds averaging 10-14 knots sustained with very little variability in wind direction shifts.
Due to the excellent conditions, 10 races for Division A, and 8 races for Division B, were sailed before the conclusion of the days sailing.
Several protests and redress's were heard by the jury at the end of the days sails. They are as follows:
B Div., Race 2: St. Mary's OCS. A Div., Race 4: Kings Point redress granted. B Div., Race 3: Kings Point redress granted. B Div., Race 1: CNU redress granted. A Div., Race 4: CNU redress granted.

The Race Committee started the day with Div B racing 9 & 10, with a North winds 18-20 knots sustained, with gusts up to 25 knots. The course was a Triangle with a windward finish to minimize the number of jibes necessary to complete the race.
Despite the RC's best attempt, several boats capsized, with many sailors not able to complete the course. After 2 races, high winds, coupled with several injuries, and numerous capsized boats, the decision was made to finish the day with 10 rounds completed.
Special Thanks to the RC crew and Support Boats:
