A tricky day of sailing for the one and only day of this years Greater New York Dinghy Regatta. Sailors arrived to a glassy East Chester Bay but as cantor Daniel Pinkus sang the national anthem a stiff Northerly filled on the race course. 4A and 4B races were completed in the 5-12 knot northerly before it became unstable. Race 5A was completed in shifty 5-8 Northeasterly before we were delayed from 2:30 until 4:00 when a 3-7 knot easterly filled in which we allowed us to complete race 6A and 5-6B. Races were W3s, W4s, and 1 W5. No protests were filed. Two requests for breakdown were filed and one was granted and the other denied. Many thanks to SUNY Coach Zach Runci for allowing the coaches to spectate from his motorboat and to the Fordham and Columbia sailors who helped out on the water and on land. Congratulations to the Brown University Bears om their victory!!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
