The day started off around 54 degrees with a light breeze coming from the WNW. In the afternoon the breeze switched, filling in from the south. Tide on Mt. Hope Bay was running out in the morning and only strengthened throughout the day, which made for a difficult cross current in many of the races. All teams did a great job keeping up with the rotations and we were able to complete 45 races and finish in the latter part of the afternoon.
A huge thanks goes out to Scott Booth, Abby Cook, Shanna Rae, Morgan Wheeler, and Brian Firth for helping run the first day!
Sunday morning began with the temperature in the low 50s, but quickly dropped to the lower 40s once a brisk southerly filled in about half way through the morning. Racing began promptly after a report time of 0900 and the second round robin was fulfilled before lunch. Finishing up the day in the early afternoon, competitors went home completing a total of 72 races.
A huge thanks to Sara Mac Swanson, Mark Gargula, Connor Adams, and Nicole Sikowitz for helping run a smooth regatta!
