On Saturday morning, NEISA sailors arrived at the Salve Regina Sailing Center at 9:30 AM in Newport, Rhode Island. NEISA sailors got a real taste of what it is like to go out sailing on Narragansett Bay in 20 knots of honking breeze from the Northwest. With the weather forecast predicting to build up to 30 knots of breeze, the coaches met to discuss the sailing conditions. After a brief coach's meeting, the decision was to try and sail before it started to get too gnarly and become un-sailable for the majority of the teams. Some of the NEISA teams struggled to get off the docks, but the first race was started at 10:45 AM. Racing on Narragansett Bay was cancelled at 12:30 PM after 2 A-Division races and 2 B-Division races were sailed, and after 7+ teams had retired from racing. For Sunday, the report time is at 9:30 AM and the first race will be at 10 AM sharp.
NEISA sailors met Sunday morning at 9:30 AM and the first race started at 10 AM in a Northwesterly breeze ranging from 10-15 knots. The breeze calmed down and shifted to the North until 3:00 PM, when the sea breeze filled in. Two final races to be sailed before 4:30 PM. Six races were sailed in each division throughout the day. No breakdowns were filed. However, two protests were filed; one resulting is a DSQ. A big thanks goes out to our Seahawk alumni from the class of 2012 for helping out with running the races and for helping assistant coach, Michael Komar, with the Race Committee. Congratulations to the Boston College Eagles on their victory!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
