Six inches of ice and snow greeted the sailors this morning at the Medford Boat Club on Upper Mystic Lake for the 35th annual Duplin Trophy. Winds were 10-25 and 30 races were sailed before numerous minor breakdowns curtailed the day at 1530. Yale is in the lead after 31 races, with 6 races and a resail left to complete the first round robin. Tomorrow's format will likely include a top 4 and bottom 5 after the first round robin is complete. Thanks to Reid Van Gorder for his help on race committee and Cameron Barclift and Eliza White for their help fixing boats.
Wind was 5-15 and shifty from the North today. There were no breakdowns and one disallowed protest. The final races of the first round robin were completed, including the resail. We moved on to gold and silver round robins with the top four and bottom five teams, respectively. After a single round robin in the silver fleet and a double round robin, Yale has claimed the Duplin Trophy this year. Note that the final scores are based on the W-L record of each team and the round that each sailed in. Thanks to Colin Meade and Caitlin Durand for their help on the docks today, and to Catherine Swanson and Polly Murray for their help with scoring and rotations.
