USF Women's Intersectional

Summary

Saturday, February 18:

Light winds delayed racing until the seabreeze filled in at 3:45 pm. A and B divisions raced in a combined fleet, resulting in 20 boats on the line. Five races were sailed in SSW winds of 8-11 knots, very flat water. Modified WL courses were sailed, averaging 18-20 minutes in length.

Sunday, February 19:

Better winds today with the approach of a cold front, averaging 13-16 knots, with a few gusts to 24. Very shifty direction as the venue was moved to inside Bayboro Harbor. Races 6 through 16 were run using Olympic and WL courses. A few capsizes, no breakdowns, no protests, and two OCS. H

uge thanks to the USF coed sailors who helped run the event, and to all the competitors for making the event a success. Consensus was that having 10 teams and running A and B together in the 20 boat fleet was great for this early season regatta.

Congratulations to Stanford for winning, with Navy and Charleston finishing a close 2nd and 3rd.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
