The teams arrived to unusually warm temperatures for March with a high of 82 and promise of some breeze during the day. While the breeze was predicted to fill in during the afternoon, A fleet began its first race at 10:15am sailing in a 4-6kt NNE that sustained until it died in the first leg of race 2A, which was sailed in 1-3kt breeze that was ghosting above the surface and making for challenging tactics. The wind shifted left for the start of the first B set and then wandered between W and NW for the remainder of the afternoon with a varying breeze between 2-7kt.
All races were Windward-Leeward x2. A full rotation was completed with the teams finishing at 4:43pm. All starts were tight with several individual recalls, but all issues were resolved on the water with no protests. The breeze was often challenging as the light air required a true test of sail trim, but throughout the day the boats never stopped moving and the breeze stabilized after 1:00pm.
Congratulations to our Clemson Tigers and a big thank you to Western Carolina Sailing Club for helping us to host here at home, providing a great venue, equipment, and a very gracious environment. Also thanks to Austin Nettles PRO, Austin Clary, and the rest of the Clemson Sailing Team for sacrificing the beginning of their spring break to run a competitive event.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
