A long, cold, and windy day at Bethel Point. Sailors, coaches, and the RC were pelted by driving rain, sleet, and some snow all day. The breeze started out of the South at 20 knots with nice waves and gradually shifted to the SE as the day progressed, ranging from 8-16 knots. 8 races were completed in each division. One protest was heard but was disallowed. All courses were W-4s.
A big thanks to Peter Johns for hearing the protest and Joe Henderson '10 and Jimmy Rohman '13 for running the shore logistics for the Polar Bears. Stu MacnNeil '08 moved marked all day and Ayaka Okawa '14 assisted on the RC boat.
Sunday brought sunshine at Bethel Point, and 2 races were sailed in A division in 2-5kts, before the breeze disappeared. Some rain showers moved through, but no more breeze came with them. Competitors waited until after 4pm, at which point the regatta was reluctantly called. Races 9A and 10A were dropped for lack of a matching B set.
Thanks to Billy Rohman '11 and Jimmy Rohman '13 for helping out on shore, and to Ayaka Okawa '14 for a second day in the RC boat. Stu McNeil '08 assisted on the water, and Ben Mende '13 helped as well. A big thanks to Katharine O'Brien for scoring remotely both days. Congratulations to BC, Connecticut College, Brown, Yale, Harvard, URI, and Coast Guard for qualifying for Nationals. Go NEISA!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
