Competitors arrived to Roger Wheeler State Beach to a brisk Easterly between 15-20 knots. Around race 3A breeze started to gust well into the 20's. There were many capsizes and one injury sending a sailor to the hospital(ok to sail tomorrow). Rotations off the beach were very exiting as the tide came up and the shore break increased!!! Overall, 8 races were sailed in each division in a very steady breeze. The windward marks were only moved once throughout the day. Thanks to PRO Joey Mello for running races with Emily Anderson(URI 10') and Ben Quatromoni(URI 10'). Also thanks to our Jury of Ted Green and Jeff Dusek for enforcing rule 42 on the water and hearing protests. Also thanks to Laser Performance for loaning 8 dollies for the event. The forecast for tomorrow is winds 20-25 out of the SW which should bring more chop and possible large breaking waves on the racecourse.
Sun and wind greeted sailors for the second day of the 2011 NEISA Conference Coed Dinghy Championships. Winds were from the SW at 20-25 for most of the day. During race 12B winds gusted upwards of 30 knots and almost all boats in the fleet flipped after which racing was called. Breakdowns included a broken in half mast and badly damaged rudder. Thanks again to all on the water volunteers and a special thanks to our judges Ted Green and Jeff Dusek. It was truly an epic event and will be remembered for years to come. Congratulations to Roger Williams for winning the event in a very dominating fashion! Also Congrats to the top 8 teams who will move on to the semi finals in Long Beach.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
