Racing began in a 4-6 knot Northwest wind which quickly shifted Northeast. After race 4 the Northeast gradient faded and the wind went west. After attempting to race in the unstable westerly wind the RC sent the sailors ashore for lunch. Upon returning to Boca Ciega Bay the southerly had filled in and races 5-8 were sailed in a steadier 8-10 knot South wind. After the gate rounding in race 8 the wind shifted back to the west. The RC attempted to adjust the course and start race 9, but the westerly was too soft and unstable, so sailors were sent ashore for the day. No Breakdowns were reported. Several protests were filled on the water, but none upon returning to land.
