Women's Atlantic Coast Championships Round 1A

Summary

Saturday, September 27:

Like the rest of the east coast today, there wasn't a lot of wind. PRO Owen Hennessey did a great job working with his regatta management team to run races when there was wind and postpone when there wasn't. W-4's and W-3's alternated to provide for faster rotations. There is a protest between MIT and Tufts that will be continued in the morning. Yale withdrew from 6A.

Sunday, September 28:

It was a sunny beautiful day with tricky shifty northerly breezes. Lots of patience exhibited by both the competitors and regatta management team. Some races were abandoned when the breeze died and others simply not started when it didn't look good. The jury (Thomas Walker, Dexter Mueller) did a terrific job managing the wind velocity and on the water 42 calls. They also pulled in Coach Brendan Feeney to hear a complex protest from race 2A which resulted in a DSQ. Owen Hennessey (PRO) and Rachel O'Neill (pin boat) did a great job racing when we should have and not when we shouldn't. Congratulations to the top nine schools who will advance to the ACC finals and especially Dartmouth's Big Green and Coach Zoe (SMC '25) for the win!

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
