Sister Ester Trophy

Summary

Saturday, October 4:

The wind was light today at the Sister Ester Trophy. The A Division took to the water while it was still slack tide. They finished two races, but by the end of the second winds were dying and the current had picked up.

Later in the afternoon the sea breeze filled and allowed B Division to complete two races. The first was sailed in a steady six to seven knots. The second started with six and, much like A divisions second race, saw the wind die and sailors struggle down wind with the current.

We hope for more wind tomorrow. Everyone do your best wind dance tonight.

Sunday, October 5:

The morning arrived with glass across Mt. Hope bay. Teams were postponed on land till 12:45. Racing commenced shortly after 13:00. There were five knots for A Division, but only four knots for B Division. A light current made it race-able.

As the current built throughout the day so to did the wind. Both divisions finished their fourth and final races in five to seven knots with current playing a significant role in racer's choices.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
