The Sherman Hoyt Trophy had a 12pm report time, temps in the 70s with lots of sun, and no wind to start off. We were postponed until approximately 3pm when a slow building southerly began to fill. Racing took place from 3:20pm until 5:20pm in a 5-8 knot southerly that slowly went right throughout the afternoon with lots of incoming current on W4 courses. The racing was close and awesome with A-division in FJs and B-division in 420s for 4 races each. Two protests were heard with one disallowed and one DSQ for MIT A-division in race 3A.
Competitor's arrived to day two of the Sherman Hoyt Trophy with light winds mainly out of the east and another beautiful day. Racing was slightly delayed until winds were were over 4 knots to get in one race in each division between 10:30am and 12:00pm. A lot of sitting around and a few races abandoned due to light winds and/or huge shifts between this time. We took a long brunch break/postponement until 1:15pm when a mainly southerly direction filled in between 4 and 8 knots for 2 more races in each division, giving each division 7 races by the 3pm cutoff. All courses were W4's with A-division in 420s and B-division in FJs. No protests were filed.
A huge thank you to our judges Alex Kitay and Hank Bailey for keeping the racing fair on the water and to Rob Migliaccio for taking photos on Sunday. Thanks to Mike O'Connor (Harvard) for being the NEISA Representative and for lending us a powerboat along with Yale. Thanks as well to all of the Brown sailors who helped out: William Baker, Tucker Gibbs, Talia Levine, and Kyoko Tonkin.
It came down to the last race between Roger Williams and Brown for the overall win with the Brown Bears taking the Sherman Hoyt Trophy by 7 points.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
