The day began with a mild post frontal wind of 10 kts from the NE, forecast to strengthen. 14 boats on the line for the first start at 1029 for three races in the bay. By the third race the wind was 18 kts, gusting 21 kts. Waves grew to 3 ft very steep and breaking, so the course was moved into the inner harbor behind the breakwall. The wind continued for the rest of the day E 18-19 kts, but waves only 1 ft or less. The challenging conditions were hard on the fleet, with plenty of capsizes and boat damage. All the sailors were kept safe and healthy however. All scheduled races were completed by 1724, and a tired group of sailors enjoyed a BBQ hosted by CCYC and the Corpus Christi sailing team.
