Navy Small Keelboat Regatta

Summary

Saturday, October 25:

Light winds dominated the conditions for the ten teams competing at the Navy Small Keelboat Regatta. The races were held in the Severn River, just east of the Naval Academy. Five races were sailed in 4-6 knot breezes. Competition was tight between the top three teams with several lead changes occurring each race. At the end of the day, Penn State Behrend and Navy Team 3 were each tied with 11 points. However, a protest between the two teams for a downwind starboard/port incident in race 2 resulted in a disqualification for the Sea Lions.

Sunday, October 26:

The race committee waited patiently for wind all morning. Hints of breeze would develop and then fade. With little hope of the wind filling before the warning signal deadline time of 1300, the races were abandoned for the day.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
