Day 1 of Kennedy Cup saw variable conditions with breeze coming from the E/NE and velocity everywhere from 10 - 20 kts. Teams had to stay on their toes and shift gears throughout the day to be successful. Several teams were OCS today but were able to make big gains after clearing themselves by playing the shifts upwind and minimizing mistakes at congested mark roundings. Charleston heads into Sunday with a one point lead on Navy.
Teams headed out for Day 2 of the Kennedy Cup, determined to make the most of the light breeze. After a short on the water postponement, the wind filled out of the N/NE and one race was sailed. In such light air, the fleet compressed and shuffled positions several times, with a different leader for each leg of the race. Ultimately, Brown was able to get into clean air downwind and claim the bullet for the final race of the regatta. Charleston held onto their overall lead on Navy and finished the regatta +2 points ahead.
Congratulations to Charleston on winning the Kennedy Cup and thanks to all the teams for tough competition this weekend. Thanks to the RC for running 5 excellent races yesterday and working hard to fit one in today. See you next year!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
