Schell Trophy NEISA Open Championship

Summary

Saturday, October 26:

8 races were completed today. The wind was westerly around 8-15 knots which cause the race course to be a little pinched inside the cove. We ran course's W4's 5's and 6's. Four protests were filed resulting in 3 DSQ's and one RAF. four races were sailed inside the cove. Then two races were sailed outside the cove with steadier breeze but more current which caused a couple general recalls. The last two races of the day were sailed back inside the cove. Roger Williams leads the field after day 1.

Sunday, October 27:

Five more races were completed today. Morning breeze was a northwesterly around 8 knots which dies after sails a few races. While the wind was trying to figure itself out, we sent both fleets ashore for a 45 min break. After the break the wind was still a little cranky. The RC was patient and the final three races in each division were sailed in a nice 8-12 knot southwesterly. One protest was filed and heard, resulting in no penalty, Many thanks to our awesome Umpire/judge crew of Moose McClintock, Caleb Dorfman, Marbella Marlo and Will Price who spent both days umpiring on the water and the evenings hearing protests. And many thanks to MIT and Conn College for bringing some spare parts and a coach boat. Jeff Bresnahan did a masterful job of being the NEISA rep. Congratulations to Roger Williams University for completely demolishing the field to win the Schell Trophy.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
