Sailors took to the water with their portable lightning rods just in time for large storms to form over downtown Jacksonville. The only race was the one to the shore to avoid a shocking experience.
Sunday brought one of the most ideal Jacksonville sailing conditions for the Conference Open Champs. the day started with 8-10 knots out of the north and a light down course current. As the day progressed the wind increased to 10-15 with a strong up course current. The combination brought wind and waves making for some fun downwind legs. 10 races were completed and 2 DSQs shook up the final standings. Congrats to freshman Will Rucker from Charleston for winning and Morgan Smith from Jacksonville for taking 2nd for the second year in a row. Elliott Raison from Charleston rounded out the top 3.
Thanks to JU Coaches and sailors for running a great regatta
