Open Atlantic Coast Championship Round 1A

Summary

Saturday, October 5:

It was a tricky day on the Severn River. We started out with a northerly at 5-10 knots and were able to get a few sets in right off Triton Point. The wind shifted right throughout the day and we had to move the course further out to get racing in. The wind was puffy and shifty all day. One protest was disallowed and one redress request was denied.

Sunday, October 6:

We arrived on Sunday to no wind, but after a short delay a 3-5 knot ESE breeze filled and we were able to start racing. The wind shifted right to SSE throughout the day and steadily built to around 10 knots by race 18. One protest was heard resulting in a DSQ for Hobart William Smith in race 17A. Brown came on strong to claim the victory. Congratulations to the top 9 teams who advance to the Open Atlantic Coast Championship Finals at Boston College October 19-20.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
