We welcomed teams from MAISA, NEISA, MCSA, SAISA, and SEISA this morning. The rain bands from the hurricane remnants moving across the US made it overcast all day with an on and off drizzle creating damp but breezy conditions.
Wind was from NE/NNE most of the day ranging from 8knts to gusts in the upper teens in the afternoon. Morning shifts tracked in a northerly direction. As we got into the final two sets of the day we had a big right shift to an Easterly coming directly under the Throggs Neck Bridge. Race Committee adjusted accordingly and then had to shift back for a strong NNE direction shift to wrap up the day for Race 9B.
The current initially flowed E->W for the first two sets and then swapped midday with the change in tide to flow W->E.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back tomorrow to finish out the racing!
We completed the regatta today in a shifty 8-12knts from the NE. The current ran from E->W for the first half of the day and then switched to run W->E for the final set. Temperatures remained in the upper 60s with less drizzle than yesterday but skies still very overcast and a heavy fog sitting over NYC in the background.
Congratulations to Webb Institute on winning the event and thank you to our competitors that flew and drove long distances to be here! It was great to see such strong competition from so many ICSA conferences and great sailing by the teams in the East River.
Many many thanks to the fantastic team behind the scenes making it all run smoothly as Race Committee, Finish Boat, Mark Boats, Shore Crew, Breakdown Crew, and Scoring. Your efforts made this event a huge success as we completed 14 races for each fleet and adapted to each shift in the breeze and current. Shout out to Scott Adler and Jane Pimentel for coming in and helping as Protest Committees and additional volunteers onsite. Thank you to Nick Sessions for being a valuable and helpful MAISA/ICSA Rep as well!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
