Fantastic day on Granite Bay. 7 races were sailed in A Division and 8 races in B Division. Race 3A was abandoned and will be re-sailed first thing tomorrow morning. The race was abandoned due to a drifting gate mark. All courses were W5's. The one minute rule flag was flying all day due to some uphill current on the starting line. For the first part of the day the breeze was about 8 knots from the ESE and by the end of the day the breeze increased in velocity to 12-15 knots from the SSE with fairly large waves. One protest was filled and thrown out and there were three breakdowns award due to a broken jib halyard and a broken centerboard.
The first warning on Sunday will be at 10AM and the goal is complete a total of 14 races in each division by 3PM tomorrow. Divisions will switch fleets after race 3A.
Nine more races were completed today, 5 in A, including the retail of race 3A and 4 in B. After the resail, which was in a WNW breeze, the wind died and everyone was sent ashore until the breeze stabilized and increased in pressure. A Southwesterly came in strong but as the day went on it continuously shifted to the right eventually ending up back to the WNW breeze we had earlier, albeit much stronger. W had decent sized waves left over from yesterdays southerly and the wind was anything from 1-18 knots. two FJ's did capsize and recovered. No breakdowns were reported. One protest was filed and disallowed because it was pst the filing time limit. All course were agin W4's except for the resale which was a W5.
Many thanks to the Coast Guard Academy for Loaning us an FJ centerboard, and to Bowdoin for loaning a starting horn and to David Thompson for serving as the regatta rep.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
