Saturday was a great day of racing in Newport, featuring a 12-15 kt Easterly which slowly faded as the day went on. Spectating and coaching was convenient, with a course set right next to the Fort Adams basin. Tomorrow, we expect to move the course north into the bay with the W/SW forecast. 8 races were completed in both divisions, leaving 6 races to complete on Sunday. Thank you to Caroline King '21 for assisting with R/C, and to Sean Crandall '23, Grace Vincens '20 and Peter Cronin '22 for helping on shore.
We will hear protests immediately following racing today, including one from yesterday that we were unable to hear. Protest hearings will take place in the Wallace Building (green building near FJ dock) and will begin 15 minutes after the last FJ returns to the dock. We ask that all teams wait near the FJ dock & Wallace Building at the end of the day until protest hearings are complete.
Another great day of sailing in Newport! 6 races were sailed in a gusty westerly, ranging from 10 to 20 kts, that slowly shifted W/SW by the last set. Thanks to Caroline King '21 and Sean Crandall '23 for assisting with race committee, and also to Lexi Pline, our event photographer for the day. Congrats to URI for winning the 2023 Sister Esther Trophy!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
