Laser South

Summary

Saturday, September 9:

On the first day of the Laser South, the fleet launched on time to race in a light easterly breeze. Unfortunately, the wind died while the boats were on the way to the course. We headed back in for an on shore postponement and then began racing early afternoon in a 4-6 knot southeasterly breeze. Two races were completed before storms in the area forced the fleet back to shore. We waited on shore for a bit until it was determined that there was just too much lightning activity in the area and racing was called for the day.

Sunday, September 10:

Racing began on Sunday in a light southeasterly breeze. Two races were completed before the wind died off and the fleet returned to shore for a postponement. The wind filled back in a little before 2 PM and we were able to finish one race and start one more before a nearby storm forced the fleet back to shore. A huge thanks to Andrew Cole for judging and congratulations to the top 11 who advance to the Carl Van Duyne MAISA Men's Singlehanded Championship at USMMA on September 30-October 1.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
