Day one of the Victorian Urn Trophy for the NEISA Women's Fall Championship brought very tricky conditions for both the competitors and race committee. A seemingly dying northerly hung in there for much of the day with huge velocity differences between 3-8 knots and huge shifts. Race 8B was sailed in a light easterly to wrap up the day. A-division sailed FJs and B-division new Zim 420e's. All courses were W4's and one protest was heard that was disallowed. A huge thanks to our judges, Julia Reynolds (Brown '22) and John Mastrandrea (Brown '20), NEISA Rep Mike Kalin, photographer Rob Migliaccio, and Brown sailors Will George '23, Emi Ruth '23, and Tommy Styron '24 for helping out.
Dartmouth had a great first day and leads a tight group for second. Race 9A warning at 10am on Sunday if there is wind.
Throughout the month of October, Brown Athletics is hosting Breast Cancer Awareness events at home sporting events. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Brown Sailing is pleased to host an awareness event at the 2022 Victorian Urn Trophy/New England Women’s Fall Championship. We distributed pink ribbons for competitors to pin to their pinnies, and hope that you join us in promoting awareness throughout the regatta. Please feel free to look at the resources linked below for additional information regarding breast cancer screening and warning signs. https://www.basser.org/brca https://www.knowyourlemons.org
After a long delay sitting around waiting for some breeze, a 4-6 southerly filled in at around 11:30am and racing began at 12:15pm. Four more races were sailed in each division with the breeze getting lighter by the last race in each division and barely raceable. A-division sailed new Zim 420e's and B-division sailed Zim FJs. All courses were W4's and no protests were filed. A huge thanks to our judges, Julia Reynolds (Brown '22) and John Mastrandrea (Brown '20), NEISA Rep Mike Kalin, photographer Rob Migliaccio, and Brown sailors Will George '23, Emi Ruth '23, and Tommy Styron '24, Sierra Bornheim '24, Connor Macken '24, and Lucian Sharpe '24 for helping out.
Congratulations to Dartmouth on winning the 2022 Victorian Urn Trophy for the NEISA Fall Women's Championship!

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
