Mild conditions greeted the 9 teams competing at the USF Trophy. Easterly winds were 8-9 knots to start the day, gradually diminishing to 5 knots and shifting to ENE. Racing was held inside Bayboro Harbor which allowed for excellent spectating.
Combining divisions resulted in 18 boats on the line, and while early races had clean starts, as the tide began to ebb, boats were pushed over the line, resulting in numerous general recalls. Nine races were completed, rotating every 3 races. All races were W4's, averaging 12 minutes in length.
Congratulation to JU for their decisive victory, followed by the USF women's team, the JU women's team, the Rollins women's team, and the Eckerd women's team. Four of the top five finishers were women's teams, go SAISA!
Thanks to all of the visiting competitors and coaches, and to the USF sailing team members who assisted with the regatta.
