Saturday dawned with light northerly wind, which was not a good omen given the forecast was light SSW for the wind. The day was otherwise gorgeous, but the light breezes that did come never lasted longer than 10 minutes before being exhausted and disappearing. Given the current at the venue both divisions sailors were postponed ashore. By 1430 there was still no sign of a consistent breeze and racing was abandoned for the day around 1500. Better luck tomorrow hopefully.
Never have I worked so hard to get off only 6 college races in a weekend. The forecast called for light to moderate wind out of the East, but in the morning we were greeted by only rain, with an occasional breath of wind. It took until about noon for there to be enough breeze to set a course with the wind coming out of the North A division finally got 2 races off in light wind and heavy flooding tide. In one amusing incident one boat towed the pin upwind with them necessitating a restart of that race! (Hard to call a line when it moves away...)
The wind veered more West as we got B division's first rotation off, by the time the second race was ending, the wind stopped and did a 180 degree swap. After the course was re-set a quick and soggy 1 and 1 rotation was sailed to complete the regatta. The one wind direction I never saw was the forecast Easterly!
Thank you to the sailors for your patients, between the conditions and this being Villanova's first time hosting, there was a lot of learning by our RC volunteers on the signal boat. Thanks to Corinthian Yacht Club for hosting this event again, and Penn for allowing use of the combined Penn/Villanova fleet.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
