A light ENE breeze at 3-5 knots made for some interesting sailing at the George W Smith Trophy regatta. With 20 teams in Tech Dinghies and 420s and employing an inner and outer trapezoid courses, the racing was tight all the way around the race track. Brown University's team of Thomas Styron and Olivia Miller along with Leyton Borcherding and Emily Rosenthal took control of the regatta in the second to last set and held their winning margin through the last set. Dartmouth sailors Oliver Hurwitz and Drew Clutterbuck took A division honors while BC Eagles Jack Plavan along with Elliot Dyroff won B Division.
All sailors got to sail one race without Rule 42 in tech dinghies and most seemed to really enjoy it, too. This added fun element is worth pursuing to keep the blood pumping on a light air day.
Many thanks to Max Katz-Christy who did finishing/scoring and Carter Brock along with Wally Corwin who assisted dockside.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
