Fall Fury

Summary

Saturday, September 10:

The Wisconsin Sailing Team had a great start to the fall season today. An approaching cold front delivered oscillating onshore flow at the UW Union, its slow approach allowing racing from a noontime fill and into the evening. Seven gloomy races were completed in both fleets, Wisco Co-ed, Wisco Women's and Michigan Co-ed rounding out the top three, respectively. Clemson and Purdue remain confidently in the top five. Huge thanks to Scott and Lisa Corder for running races and Wisco sailors for their off and on water support. Another huge thank you to our protest committee with chief judge Paul Murray, and judges Raymond Groble, Lisa Corder, and Michael Lusty.

Sunday, September 11:

The weather turned sour on the second day of racing with steady rain and dropping temperatures. A northern 15-knot+ sustained breeze led to choppy conditions on Lake Mendota. The PRO Scott Corder decided to therefore call off racing for the day. One final huge thank you to all the people that made this regatta possible including our protest committee with chief judge Paul Murray, and judges Raymond Groble, Lisa Corder, and Michael Lusty. Also a major thanks to our PRO Scott Corder along with Lisa Corder on the committee boat, our fantastic mark set boats for working overtime to keep the course square, and all of the other Wisconsin sailors who made this regatta possible.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
