Strong northerly winds from Hurricane Fiona far offshore led us to have a delayed report time of 11am. That decision ended up working out very well as teams arrived to a moderating breeze and sunny skies. We didn't realize that the Port Jefferson Classic Car Hill Climb was being run out of the Village Center, so while it was a bit chaotic getting to the yacht club parking lot, everyone got to see over 75 vintage and classic cars along the way.
Racing commenced at 12:30pm in a NNW breeze at 10-12 knots. The wind continued to moderate and went progressively West throughout the afternoon with frequent oscillations. We completed 9 races in each division a bit after 5pm. Sailors then enjoyed a delicious BBQ after racing. Overall, a beautiful day of early Fall sailing. Thank you to everyone who came to sail with us. Congratulations to Kings Point for winning the event! Big thank you to Adam Zeng '24 and Jada Seto '25 for running the races (and to Adam for running the grill!) and to James Gilmore '19 and Kristin Hess '22 for helping out with safety boat/mark moving duties. Thanks also go to the rest of the SBU team for their help and to the Port Jefferson Yacht Club for the use of their facilities.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
