The 2022 Pine Trophy began with a 3 hour wind delay with a fighting Northerly and Southerly both attempting to fill in without success. The predicted southwesterly finally arrived around 1430 and led to some classic Thames River conditions. The sailors initially battled a strong ebb tide as well as puffy and shifty conditions leading to some significant lead changes throughout each race. The Coast Guard Bears head into day 2 as the leaders, with the Yale Bulldogs and BC Eagles close on their tail.
Day 2 of the Pine Trophy saw very light conditions with the regatta only able to complete 1 race today. BC eagles took third, Yale Bulldogs second and the Coast Guard Bears took first in some very tight racing.
