Spectacular southerly breeze began to smoke in a bit late in the day and swimming became abundant.David Larsen, Sam Jones and Kelsea Shakin volunteered to judge but also did a fair amount of rescuing capsized boats which needed some occasional assistance. Wally Corwin was on the docks helping with minor fixes all day. Lucy Charles and Carl Zimba helped out in the signal boat while Paige Omura, Oaklin Keefe and Julius Heitkoetter handles finishes and scoring. Moose McClintock from URI was the ICSA rep and handled all whining.....
The home team of MIT Engineers hold a slim lead over the South Florida Bulls and those speedy Jumbos from Medfuhd, Mass. Six more races tomorrow with a spectacular forecast as well.
Franny Charles, MIT Sailing Master
Fall sailing rarely gets any better than a west, northwest breeze on the Charles River at 12-18 knots. Big shifts were easy to read for the competitive sailors at the Women's Atlantic Coast Tournament as they started on the Esplanade and worked all the way up to the corner at Mass and Cambridge. The MIT Engineers team of Brooke Schmelz with Mercedes Escandon in A Division and Lucy Brock sailing with Sophie Yang and Zoe Fisher had a ten point advantage on the very competitive University of South Florida Bulls.
USF's Emma Shakespeare sailing with Carolina Perez Rovira and Brilan Christopher took A Division honors in the 16 race series and the BU Terrier's Tiare Sierra with Gabriella Schmidt won their B Division.
All of our volunteer race personnel and judges returned for a second day. College sailing truly could not exist without their assistance.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
