Dawn Riley of Oakcliff Sailing Center greeted sailors with a half hour talk about how she began as a professional sailor and developed leadership skills along the way. Dawn holds the record of leadership in more America's Cup campaigns than any one - man or woman. She stressed how important it is to always develop and maintain networks of contacts for throughout one's lifetime.
Competitors enjoyed ideal conditions of a mostly steady SW breeze of 14-16 knots with 1 foot seas in open waters off St. Mary's Point on LIS. Competitors raced 8 races in combined divisions finishing up around 4pm. Except for one jib halyard shackle exploding, the day was flawlessly competitive and fun.
Upon returning to shore all enjoyed pizza and ice cream compliments of Sail Black Rock Foundation.

After a quick competitor's meeting sailors hit the water about 10am.
Sunday brought SW breeze very steady of 6-10 knots. Seas were almost flat. RC and competitors knocked off 6 races to finish up about 2pm. Upon returning to shore the ice cream shop again provided free cones to all.
A quick awards ceremony handed out Mystic Knotworks Sailors Bracelets of bronze , silver and gold to the placing teams. Autographed by Terry Hutchinson America Magic caps were handed out to three competitors who followed the New York YC AC entry American Magic.
Fairfield University was the overall winner whose name will be on the permanent SHU Trophy of the half hull Atlantic.
