Sailors arrived to a rainy and brisk fall morning at Eugene Yacht Club on the Fern Ridge Reservoir. Races were postponed due to windless conditions for several hours, but the wind started to fill in around 12:30, so sailors hit the water. First races happened around 1 pm, and conditions were roughly 8-12 knots well into the afternoon. Wind shifted slightly and called for some replacement of marks from time to time, but overall sailors were able to get 8 races under their belts for Day 1.
Day 2 brought heavy wind, white caps, and capsizes. Wind came from the southwest, hitting speeds of almost 30 knots. Sailors headed out onto the lake, and tried to get some starts in. Race marks drifted and had to be adjusted many times before A Fleet was finally underway. The first race yielded only one capsize, but every boat finished. In the midst of the second race for A Fleet, 4 more boats took a spill, and the wind and chop were not letting up and built even more. In the interest of everyone's safety, races were called and B Fleet did not get a chance to get any races in, so scores from Day 2 did not count. Everyone returned to shore just as it started raining again, and teams packed up a bit early for the trips home. Not the ending sailors hoped for, but full of action nonetheless.

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.
The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
