Nicholas Barnett Trophy

Summary

Saturday, September 18:

Sailors arrived to the Schiller Coastal Studies to overcast skies and no breeze. The sailors pushed off the docks in a fading westerly. After a hour of hanging out on the water, we took a break ashore. A nice SW filled in 4-8 knots. 4 races were completed in each division before the fog took over. A division competed in FJs with B in 420s. We will switch fleets Sunday. A big thank you to Louis Frumer '18 for moving marks and the Polar Bears for handling all the land operations. One protest was filed and will be heard Sunday morning. A huge thank you to the Barnett Family for continuing to support the regatta and the program.

Sunday, September 19:

Day two of the Barnett Trophy was terrific! Breeze started North and gradually went to the NW at 10-15 knots. 10 races were completed in each division, all courses were W-4s. A huge thank you to Louis Frumer '18 for moving marks and the Bowdoin undergrads for handling the land ops. Thank you to Mike O'Connor and Dirk Johnson for hearing one protest. Congrats to Harvard for winning the 2021 Barnett Trophy. Thank you to everyone coming up to Bowdoin.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
